Are we headed in the right direction?
I think i can speak for a hefty percentage of the nation when i say that that US is headed in a very bad direction.
Gas prices rising, the deficit being at an all time high, Unemployment rates going up, all in a matter of 8 years.
Coincidentlly the 8 years that President Bush has been in office. Republican much? hm..
I cant conceive an idea as to why in this god forsaken world we would re elect president Bush for a second term.
Speaking as Generation X, Y and Z, I feel our future and that of our brothers, sisters and even kids
is bleek.
Now that bush CANT be re-elected, and the opportunity to place a democrat in office is present, i hope we take advantage of that.
I am an Obama supporter. I am open to peoples ideas and i can completly understand your points of view if you're a republican
but until someone steps up and explains to me what a republican will do for me? and for my well being in the future..and that of
my kids, then my complete and utter faith lies fully in the democratic party and it helping us get out of this rut that the country is in.
about 10 years ago when Clinton was president, the worst thing he put us through was possible impeachment, and people
almost fucking DIED because dude got his shit taken care of on the side...
but now that bush is pretty much governing us into the ground, people freak out NOW?!
on the real...i just read an article in todays paper stating "Most Americans say US is on the wrong track"
Yeah...NO FUCKING SHIT
Has it taken us THAT long to realize this? After 8 years and a re election ? Weve been going down hill ever since 9/11 and
even before then. A poll isnt needed to tell me that we suck right now.
I cant do much about it just because i refuse to involve myself in the dirty world of politics...so i figured the next
best thing i could do is exercise my freedom of speech and print..and...well....write.
Locally speaking..
I graduated from high school in 2004 (Southwest High School, Miami,Fl) and our class, as well as classes from other schools
and even other years suffered from over crowding in schools. Ridiculous. To the point where you couldnt get to class on time.
I took a step back and went to a Private College and liked the fact that there werent 300 students in my classes, just
alil over 20 at most sometimes.
I didnt graduate high school too long ago so i still care a whole lot about the
public school system, considering i was in it my entire life.
The fact that my tax dollars are being used to fund the new Marlins Stadium instead of being used for building new high schools, after school programs, sports programs; The fact that teachers are being fired
due to poor money management on behalf of the Miami Dade and Broward County Public School System. That employees who have ANYTHING to do with the school funding are using the money to buy shit for themselves and that our current governer...for those of you who didnt know, Charlie Crist, Ex-Commisioner of Education in the State of Florida isnt doing shit for the public school system in the state makes me wonder a whole lot.
I love Miami. I love it to death because its my home. I wasnt born here but ive been here all of my life and its all i know
and i wouldnt trade this skyline for pretty much anything. Miami has my roots and i will defend it until i die.
and i love our sports teams. but on some real shit, the marlins wont die if they continue playing at dolphin stadium.
And lets not blame the poor landscaping of the stadium attributing to the dolphins losing season because we all know
that the dolphins just need a new roster. so quit that noise.
Again, there isnt much i can do, because even if my vote "counts"
i live in florida
haha
i made a funny
no on the real..even if my vote "counts"...it doesnt..because it will probably be overuled by an electoral college or even
people who suck and will vote for McCain. Personal Opinion and if you got something to say please get at me....
exercise YOUR freedom of speech
cause it seems even THAT is starting to fade..
stay live

CHEF - YARELIS 2020...ima vote for you guys when yall run to be in the white house
Honestly scooby, nobody's vote counts...this country was fucked up since it was sold hundreds of years ago, there is nothing the average man can do but lead his own path and movement in this life n hope for the best then expect the worst...that way your never disappointed by anything or anyone, and you hold yourself solely accountable for your actions... just my idealist/realist opinions...
at the end of the day all I can say is give it your best effort, whatever you decide to do, and most of all don't complain, strive of the pain!!!
100

all imma say to this post is... IM SAAAAAAAAAAAYIN! & i thought i was the only one who thought this way. mhm.
The country has been going in the wrong direction for a long time, much before Bush was around, although its the understatement of the year to say he messed up royally. I completely agree with the stadium problem. But, when it comes to the stadium and things of that nature, most people dont seem 2 realize the obvious solution: privatize. Y is the gov't even involved with the stadium at all? Wouldnt it b much better 2 have a private company take care of that? If a private company takes over that project, itll do it efficiently with the least amount of corruption, unlike a bunch of bureaucrats. Itll create jobs, which stimulates investment and helps the local economy. The sports teams get a new stadium, the economy gets a boost, AND our tax dollars go for something that helps everyone: education, medicine, etc.
